Prof. ROKO ANDRIČEVIĆ Ph.D.

Holds Ph.D. from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, University of Minnesota, USA, in the subject area of management of water resources systems under uncertainty. 1987-1988 conducted research as visiting scientist at the Stanford University, USA. Participated in a research project about water resources optimal control and environmental protection studies. Later, employed as assistant and associate professor at the University of Nevada Systems in Las Vegas and Reno. Participated in scientific projects in water resources management and stochastic hydrology in the surface and subsurface systems. Responsible for research program in developing environmental protection studies and research projects in the field of reactive transport of radionuclides in the subsurface and evaluation of ecological risk, funded from National Scientific Foundation (NSF) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the USA.

From 2002, was nominated to the public office in the position as the Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Physical Planning, Republic of Croatia. Responsible for developing legislation and strategic documents in the area of environmental protection. As a co-author of the National strategy for waste management, participated in writing the Law on Waste and conducted a wide process of education and raising public awareness on the waste management issues. Also responsible for developing and implementing various projects and financial donations through the programs of CARDS and GEF, and with German institute GTZ. Currently employed as Professor by the Faculty of Civil and Architectural Engineering, Center for Environmental Research at the University of Split. Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the field of hydraulic structures, water resources, environmental engineering and stochastic modeling. Serving as international expert for EU related projects and author of more than 50 scientific papers published in international Journals including research and technical reports.

Prof. JURE MARGETA Ph.D., P.E.

Ph.D. Graduate of University of Zagreb, Zagreb, Croatia, 1983. Major subject of water resources systems analysis with specialty in water quality and modeling techniques. Ph.D. study completed at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado, 1982. Major subject of water resources systems analysis with specialty in water quality. Currently employed by Faculty of Civil Engineering Split as Professor in the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering. Teach graduate and undergraduate courses and conduct research and designing project in urban water systems planning and management, and water resources planning and management. Served as Principal and co-Principal Investigator for numerous research projects in the field of Water Resources Planning and Management. Part-time employed by UNEP-Mediterranean Action Plan, Center for Priority Programme since 1985 to 2000 as coordinator of Priority field Water Resources. Author of several books, more than 40 papers published in domestic and international Journals and more than 70 papers present at congresses.

Prof. MIJO VRANJEŠ, Ph.D., P.E.

Holds the Ph.D. from the Civil Engineering Department, University of Zagreb in the subject area of the nonstacionary flows in rivers and channels. Currently employed at the Civil and Architectural Engineering Department, University of Split. Area of interest and research activity related to the Hydraulic structures and coastal engineering. Teach graduate and undergraduate courses and conduct research and designing project in hydraulic engineering, coastal planning and engineering. Participated in many research projects and currently is principal investigator of the research project related to the salt-water intrusion in the river Neretva Delta. He is author of 20 papers in domestic and international journals and large number of research technical reports.

Prof. DUŠAN MARUŠIC Ph.D., P.E.

Holds Ph.D. from the Civil Engineering Department, University of Zagreb , Croatia , in the subject area of management of transportation infrastructure systems. Served as Principal and co-Principal Investigator for numerous research projects in the field of transportation infrastructure systems planning and management within couple of organizations, namely: Civil Engineering Department, University of Sarajevo , Bosnia and Herzegovina ; IPSA Institute in Sarajevo , Bosnia and Herzegovina ; Civil Engineering Department, University of Split , Croatia . From 1996. served as dean of Civil Engineering Department, University of Split , Croatia . Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the field of and transportation systems and environmental management. Recently is very active in the field of environmental management, by conducting research and design projects. Author of several books, more than 50 papers published in international Journals including research and technical reports.

M. Sc. HRVOJE GOTOVAC

B.Sc. Graduate at Faculty of Civil Engineering at University of Split, Split, Croatia, 1999. Msc.Sc. study completed in 2004. at Faculty of Civil Engineering of University of Split, with major in double-density flows in the subsurface. Currently employed as Assistant by the Faculty of Civil and Architectural Engineering, University Split. Participate in teaching undergraduate courses and participate in research and research projects in the field of stochastic modeling of flow and transport in deep geologic formations and salt water intrusion problems in the river Delta. Author of several papers published in domestic and international Journals, and several papers presented at domestic and international congresses and conferences.

B. Sc. SRĐAN SELANEC

B.Sc. Graduate at Technological Faculty at University of Zagreb, Croatia, 1975. Specialized in Environmental Engineering and worked as Chief Environmental Processes Engineer and/or Director of Town Planning Institute–Maribor (Enviromental Department), Hidroprojekt -Zagreb, TEH-PROJEKT–Rijeka and ECO-TEHPROJECT Ltd.-Zagreb. Since 1975 was in charge of many locally and internationally funded/implemented projects. Recently, actively involved in preparation and implementation of so called Waste to Energy projects - where solid and liquid organic wastes from agricultural and food industry are converted into bio-gas/energy and fertilizer/soil conditioner.
